Ny cykel (och mer stickning)

I bought a bicycle during the weekend. Isn't she cute? Try as I might, however, I'm unable to adjust the seat and handlebar height on my own - where's my handyman when I need him? She's a bit rusty and noisy, but I'm excited to explore the Swedish countryside with her over the summer. The weather has been so nice here recently - still cold, but really sunny and light until late.

I like to come back from class and sit with tea at the dining table with the sun streaming in. The light this afternoon was so lovely I thought it might be nice to take some pictures of the gorgeous Rowan pattern book I picked up today. It's full of inspiration for the warmer weather and I love every pattern in it. I'd like to make that sweet little top in the last photo for summer cycling...

And my Saroyan is finally blocked. You can see the ridge in the decrease section in this picture - quite disappointing, but I still really like it. It's so warm - I was nearly expiring when taking pictures!

  1. Your scarf is beautiful, I quite like that decrease ridge! Your mum is sure to love it, it's a beautiful present.

Your bike is COOL. You should bring it back with you! Tim will be able to adjust the seat for you I'm guessing...unless there is a brawny and willing 'other man' you could ask in your building?

That book looks fantastic...I love the pink jumper. Which one do you think you will make first?

  2. Don't like my chances with other men around here...

There's actually no sense of 'gentlemanly' behaviour in Sweden - they let doors swing back in your face, never pay and generally ignore you. I think it's the whole socialised equality thing. It's an interesting difference (but not one I necessarily like!).

And your comment about bringing the bike home made me laugh. I'm so in love with it I already researched that on the internet!!
